Henrietta Ford

Henrietta Ford- First Colony's own mystery writer

author of 3 Mystery Novels
THE HESSIAN LINK In the snug study of a two hundred forty-year-old manor house on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, two Richmond City homicide detectives and a famous genealogist cordially sip after-dinner scotch. As the fire burns low, the genealogist abruptly turns to his guests and says, “I want you to solve a murder…a murder that occurred over two hundred and thirty years ago.”Thus Jere Ford and his partner Ingrid Fairchild are cast into the most bizarre murder investigation they ever encountered. Modern techniques, historical documents, and ancient archives are used as these detectives travel back in time to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the beautiful enigmatic Caroline during the Hessian occupation of their home.
MURDER ON THE OBX Travis White and Sam Barnett, two Alcohol Beverage Control officers, embark on a much-need fishing vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Their vacation is interrupted when the body of a man is found on the beach at Nags Head. The Dare County sheriff recruits them to help local law enforcement officers Shucks Twine and Nona Godette in the investigation. Shucks’ intricate knowledge of the islands proves crucial to the investigation. And Nona---seductive, enticing Nona…brings her own attributes to the case. At first the officers think that this is a crime committed by an old nemesis…local bootlegger Maynard Drane. Soon they realize that the crime is much more far reaching when the FBI, INS, and ATF sweep in and threaten to snatch the case right out of the hands of the North Carolina officers. A turf war ensues. When the battle cools, federal and local agencies pool their information, and are shocked to discover that crimes far more sinister than the murder of a local bootlegger have occurred.
WHEN SLEEPING DOGS LIE When Sheriff Benjamin Day and Ignatius Harder accompany their friend, Matt Murray to Williamsburg /James City County, Virginia their holiday is interrupted when the body of Matt’s cousin, Noah, is found floating among a bevy of crab pots in the murky waters of the James River. The police determine that he was murdered. However, before they can investigate, a hurricane churning off the coast suddenly moves inland and sets its eye straight for James City County. Matt and his friends seek refuge in his cousin’s two-hundred year old mansion where ghostly inhabitants and inexplicable happenings are rumored to occur. As the hurricane rages the three men launch their own investigation into Noah’s death. In the course of their investigation, they inadvertently lay bare family secrets, deceit, and treachery—and discover the shocking identity of Noah Murray’s murderer.
Henrietta F. Ford grew up in the small village of Seaboard in eastern North Carolina. Her childhood endowed her with memories of dusty country roads, misty swamps, and miles of unspoiled beaches that serve as inspiration for her stories of mystery and suspense. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and graduate degrees from Middle Tennessee University. She enjoys gardening, genealogy research, and goes to the Outer Banks of North Carolina as often as possible. She lives with her husband in Williamsburg, VA.For more about Henrietta Ford, how to purchase her books, and her calendar of events, visit her at http://mysite.verizon.net/jmaus1/

She graduated from Mary Baldwin College with an art/graphic design degree and teaching certification. She moved to Williamsburg with her husband 12+ years ago and continues to teach and create.

Once a part-time hobby, Tracy’s art is now a full-time business. Resigning from her art position at D.J. Montague, she now stays home with her daughter and works during nap-times and bed-times. Tracy also teaches art workshops, camps, etc.

Tracy’s experience as an elementary art teacher has inspired her use of bright colors and whimsical designs.
